Arthritis can impact people even in young adulthood and can create debilitating pain in the knees. Now a new treatment that uses a patients own cells has been approved to heal it. The treatment removes healthy cells and grows them. Then the cells are re-injected into the damaged area of the knee and covered with a bone graft taken from the tibia. The NHS (UK) just approved the surgery process for regular use as a treatment but it’s currently only offered in a few specialty clinics.
