While carbohydrates are often vilified as a major cause of obesity and something to be avoided when seeking to cut weight, the reality is that they are a necessary component of a healthy diet.
Specifically, carbohydrates can be broken into two groups: good carbohydrates that your body can process in a healthy way, and bad ones that simply add weight with little or no nutritional value.
- Processed foods are the problem carbs.
- Carb cravings are usually because of your body attempting to restore your blood sugar
- Not all carbs are the same
“High-quality carbs — including minimally processed grains, along with non-starchy vegetables, whole fruits and beans — are the ones to choose.”
